How
do I know? |
| |
Men who think about a vocation often ask, “How
do I know whether I should enter the seminary?”
Many people spend a lot of time denying it and ignoring signs
that are obvious only in retrospect.
To assist you in your own discernment, the following list may
be helpful. While there
is no scoring, you may find yourself saying “yes” to most. If so, maybe you really do know. |
|
|
|
-
Are
you going to Mass more than you used to?
-
Do
other people tell you that you would make a good priest?
-
Do
you often imagine yourself presiding at Mass?
-
Do
you have friends who are in the seminary or who are
thinking about it?
-
Are
you praying more than you used to?
-
Are
you excited by the thought of spending your life doing
ministry?
-
Do
you enjoy retreats?
-
Are
you participating more actively in Mass as a Server,
Eucharistic Minister, Lector, or Musician?
-
Does
the idea of being a priest simultaneously scare you and
captivate you? (It
usually does.)
-
Do
you know that you would make a good husband and
father but have a nagging feeling that there is something
even more compelling that you just have to do?
